Dan Reilly was born and raised in the Bay Area before attending UC Santa Barbara where he studied film history and theory. After graduating with a B.A. in Film Studies and receiving two departmental awards (Outstanding Graduating Senior and Excellence in the Field of Critical Studies), he excelled as a media activist while working with a number of organizers and social justice organizations. After a number of successful projects, Dan returned to the Bay Area where he became President of an underground record label. Remaining true to his roots as an activist, he worked with a number of talented and conscious hip-hop artists in his time with the label. Eventually Dan returned to the realm of video production and was fortunate enough to work with a wide variety of high-end clients during a working partnership with the Emeryville-based media company Catapult Mediaworks. For the last two years, Dan has renewed his activism while working as the Video Production Coordinator for Youth Movement Records in Oakland, CA and the RYSE Center in Richmond, CA.
