Project details

What we need
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions with a staff member
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, target(s) for improvement, and area(s) of focus for coaching sessions
  • A foundation for process and best practices when confronting change
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice for moving forward through change
Additional details

We are an online platform seeking to empower women and amplify their voices through writing. We focus generally on emerging writers. Having been around for over 7 years, we are finding we are not attracting a diverse group of writers submitting to us. We need help facilitating a deep dive into what are our goals and priorities and practical next steps to achieve them.

What we have in place
  • We currently have our 3 team members available for this project, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a website, socials and weekly newsletter, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,620 , allowing us to continue supporting the costs associating with running the platform. We are not monetised and are entirely self-funded.

We feel we are at an impasse and need to interrogate whether our platform is really needed given the lack of diversity in writers and writing. We wish to deep dive into what we are about and what we want to achieve and if it's possible with our limited resources before making significant decisions about our future.

Our mission

Jewish Women of Words is a platform empowering and amplifying women writers.

Connect--offering collaboration, community and inclusion
Grow-- building networks, confidence and competence
Enable-- publishing experienced and emerging voices

What we do

JWOW is an online publishing platform for reflection about what it means to be a Jewish woman in the increasingly complex world today. It is a community of emerging and established writers and a space for, by and about Jewish women. JWOW gives Jewish women a voice, a community and a platform.

NFP run by volunteers. Articles are published on the blog and via Facebook, and a regular newsletter is emailed to subscribers.

JWOW sometimes runs writing workshops in conjunction with the Jewish Museum of Australia, LaunchPad and Pathways for those who would like to meet face to face, learn from and support each other.

Testimonials

We had a fabulous opportunity to meet up with Jenny for an in-person session. For 3 hours Jenny facilitated a discussion to thoroughly interrogate our purpose, whether we were meeting our objectives and come to a decision about our future. She did so with intention and curiosity, probing and eliciting a relevant and important discussion.
