Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
What we have in place
- We have a website that is partially completed and a facebook group with close to 100 followers. The website has not been updated in a few years. We have just completed a four year strategic plan and we are getting ready to begin a major fundraising effort. We have the content required to construct a new website and we have two dedicated board members that will be closely involved in this project. We have a team on the ground in Kenya that will also be involved.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to provide lunch and school uniforms to over 50 children for a whole school year.
Our ability to continue to provide education, basic health and meals and to vulnerable children in rural Kenya, depends on our ability to tell our story and cultivate interest from prospective supporters. As resources have become scarce and competition for these resources has increased, funders and other prospective supporters have resorted to reviewing websites as a form of initial screening. This means that websites need to be regularly updated to include most recent accomplishments. With an updated website, we believe that we will increase traffic to our website and interest from prospective funders and supporters; thus financial support.
Project plan
Our mission
To improve the quality of education for children in rural Africa by providing affordable quality education, basic health-care, nutritional food and a home for those that have been orphaned as a result of HIV/Aids and other tragedies.
What we do
We use a holistic approach to address the needs of these vulnerable children. Not only do we address their needs, but also those of the community as a whole. We provide them with relevant training. In Kenya, we provide training in modern farming techniques and community health.
Testimonials
Working with Kim was such a joy! Kim was patient with us throughout the project and went over and above to make sure that the work moved along and that we were pleased with the end product. Her expertise was also on full display. I highly recommend her for your project.
