Website User Experience
Website User Experience
Project details
What we need
- Overhaul of the organization and structure of the Organization's existing website, or UX design for a new website
- Clear map of website’s structure (sitemap) with wireframes to accompany the layout; wireframes may include homepage, section pages, content detail pages, and form pages
- Flowcharts or specifications for the interactive features of the website
- A summary of the system components that will need to be styled for the site
- Note: We recommend this project for custom websites. If your site is built on a CMS platform like Wordpress or Squarespace that offers design templates, you may not need a UX design. Check out our Website Content Plan project for help designing a CMS-based website
Additional details
SLB Radio Productions, Inc. (SLB) uses radio and audio to amplify voices of youth--and members of other communities whose stories are often marginalized--to educate, empower, and build community.
Our work includes three processes: capture, produce, and publish. Our websites have grown organically and we have several points of entry but no clear parent page. We need the website to be revamped to coincide with the completion of a capital campaign later in 2019.
What we have in place
- We currently have a person on staff who manages the website and is available, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have another staff member with a good sense of what users need, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,946 , allowing us to put that directly into our capital campaign.
We are in the process of raising funds to expand our programming space from one broadcast studio to two, plus a multimedia classroom and audience area. Plenty of technology and people to train youth on using it. However, our websites are difficult to navigate and get information from, and not consistent with the level of professionalism we're building into our space. Here are the websites:

neighborhoodvoices.org

Our mission
SLB Radio Productions, Inc. uses radio and audio to encourage, amplify, share and archive the ideas, stories, and feelings of children, youth and families. We believe in radio and audio because these technologies enable a sense of intimacy, engagement, and self-directed imagination that is often lacking in other media, while also promoting opportunities for privacy (given that children need not be photographed), equal access (audio has fewer barriers for participation than other media), and sharpening of important life skills (i.e. speaking and listening, imagination, creative expression, and critical thinking, respect for others, confidence and cooperation, and technical curiosity).
