Project details

What we need
  • 1-2 page press release that can be distributed to news outlets
Additional details

We recently received funding/have a new partnership with a foundation and would like to create a press release to announce and acknowledge the partnership and support. We are also generally interested in doing more press and media outreach, this seems like a good, simple first step!

What we have in place
  • We currently have core language, the ability to get a quote from our partner, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have nice images, school partners that would provide quotes, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,348 , allowing us to dedicate much needed dollars toward reaching more schools and kids.

TeachUNITED is successfully transforming the quality of education in marginalized and under-resourced schools. We have positive impact data and we're growing - but no one knows about it! We need to do a better job of getting the word out about our organization, our success, our incredible supporters who make this work possible and become thought-leaders in our field. This would be an important first step.

Project plan

P
Prep: Information Gathering
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss initiative, partnership, or event that Organization wishes to publicizes
  • Volunteer Manager shares existing marketing materials, mission statement, and program descriptions for Professional to incorporate into press release
1
Milestone 1: Press Release Writing
  • Professional writes draft of press release and shares with Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager gives feedback, which Professional incorporates
  • Professional delivers final version of press release
  • (Optional) Volunteer Manager incorporates Press Release into Press Kit

Our mission

TeachUNITED is a global non-profit dedicated to reducing poverty and inequality through education. We focus on underserved communities where educational disparities are most acute.

What we do

Every child on the planet deserves access to an equitable and quality education.

Yet 250 million kids around the world still leave school without
critical reading, writing & math skills.

If current trends continue, by 2030 more than 750 million young people will not be on track to acquire basic secondary level skills. A global teacher shortage, estimated to reach 69 million by 2030, makes this learning crisis even more pressing. Without action, more than a quarter of the population in low-income countries -- more than 1.5 billion adults -- could be living in extreme poverty in 2050. Underserved and rural areas are the hardest hit.

TeachUNITED is determined to change that.

Our core belief is that a quality education is possible when students are taught by quality teachers. By providing training, resources, and long-term connections for teachers in underserved communities, we improve student learning outcomes.
