Additional details
Hello! We are hoping to refresh our website this year and plan to move from a custom WordPress site to a template so we are not so reliant on our developer to make changes. Our website was last updated in 2016 and has gotten fairly bogged down with new pages/stuff so I am looking to clean it up, while improving its look, messaging, and mobile responsiveness.
What we have in place
- We currently have website metrics from Google analytics, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have user profiles we created during our last website redesign, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to get 75,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to communities across Southern California experiencing food insecurity.
All of our stakeholders interact with our website in a variety of ways. We have thousands of people who use it to volunteer with us, donate their surplus fruits or vegetables, or financially support us. In most cases, our website is the very first point of entry for people new to the organization and we want to ensure that we are bringing them into our community and keeping them engaged. We want them to stay on our website to learn, and to be inspired, and to ultimately support our mission.
Project plan
Our mission
Food Forward fights hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same.
What we do
We collect fresh fruits and vegetables that would normally go to waste from backyard fruit trees, public orchards, farmers markets, and the downtown Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. 100% of the produce we recover is donated to hunger relief agencies across 8 counties in Southern California.
Testimonials
Trupti was SO great to work with! She created an incredibly thorough website audit for our organization, which far surpassed my expectations. She was very responsive and made herself available to speak on the phone and answer any questions we had. She kept us updated on her work by sending the audit as it was in progress and completed everything by the date we set out. I can't believe how detailed the audit turned out. In fact, one of our board members was amazed that a volunteer did this quality of a project for us! It is going to be something we reference as we work to update our website and it has helped us to set priorities for what can feel like an otherwise overwhelming project.
It was a rewarding experience to work with Food Forward. They knew what they wanted to achieve through this project. I worked with Laura, and she was a wonderful client. She always quickly responded to my emails, scheduled meetings, and was always receptive to my feedback. They were aware that I also have a job and they always respected my time. I never felt pressured. Even though it was a short project and we only communicated on phone, I thought we worked very well together. Wonderful people and a great cause. They were an ideal client.
