Business Plan Review
Project details
What we need
- A document with detailed feedback and edits that ensures an Organization's business plan clearly defines its mission and approach, finance and operating structure, and tracks to key performance indicators
Additional details
Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) operates a makerspace for kids and teens. This summer we built the teen makerspace and production lab and will have a production crew working on laser cut customer gifts and a design crew working on STEAM kits for the kids in the community. We are working on a business plan and would like to work with someone to help us further develop and finalize it.
What we have in place
- We currently have a rough draft, a break even formula and some research, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the executive director and her assistant on this project, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,828 , allowing us to reinvest this money into the programs and the business
This business will help to make our kids and teen makerspace or more sustainable with revenue from the business paying for youth wages and program costs.

Our mission
Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is a multi-service organization with a primary focus on helping children, youth, and adults to build 21st-century skills. Our mission is to enhance the lives of the culturally and economically diverse residents of Maverick Landing, East Boston, and surrounding communities by:
+Motivating people to achieve economic, educational, and personal goals.
+Linking people to support systems.
+Creating leadership opportunities
+Strengthening youth, families, and community.
What we do
Our family support-based model of building 21st century skills runs from zero to adulthood:
Early Care (0-5) with a Family Nurturing program for parents and playgroups in Arabic & Spanish, implemented in collaboration with BPS Countdown to Kindergarten.
Children (7-12): after-school and summer program offering academic support, socioemotional development, and STEM engagement.
Teen Programs (13-18): a workforce development and social enterprise program that helps teens build 21st century skills to advance their educational and economic goals.
Adult Programs: English Innovations, a tech-infused language learning model; the Work, Tech and Life Skills program helps adults with digital job search, setting up a LinkedIn profile and digitizing resumes and portfolios through EastieCoders- a front end website development study group.
We have also begun to host regular social events to build social capital and community cohesion, supporting the success of our programs and providing us with volunteer support from the community.
