Impact statement
This project will save us $6,772 , allowing us to dedicate more time in improving content and possibly layout of our website.

Project Details

What We Need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
What We Have In Place
  • We have launched a new version of the website last year and we would like to assess how user friendly it is and what we can plan to improve. Therefore we can provide already the website to review.
How This Will Help

Our website is our window to the world and we want to make sure it reflects what we are and what we want to accomplish. Grant givers are always looking at our website to learn more about us, and it is fundamental that it gives the right message. As a non-profit we rely on sponsors and grants.

Project may require a short interview with the organization.

About The Org

Our Mission

ESMoA's mission is to Spread the Spark of Creativity and to be a catalyst for Creative Thinking.
ESMoA is an arts laboratory rather than a traditional museum - we are nimble and we take risks with our programming, and our display format, that most established arts organizations would not.
Our Experiences (our word for exhibitions) demonstrate that art, and art education, are at the foundation of any society.
ESMoA believes that art is a state of mind that can open all your senses.

What We Do

Artlab21 Foundation is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) operating ESMoA, an art laboratory in El Segundo, a functional and experimental art space with a focus on education. ESMoA opened to the public in January 2013 and is one of few arts institutions in the South Bay of Los Angeles. ESMoA has hosted 28 Experiences (20 within the ESMoA gallery, 8 in the community), and has welcomed over 80,000 visitors.
ESMoA's outstanding free initiatives include:

EXPERIENCES
ESMoA creates three on-site Experiences (i.e. exhibitions) per year, which serve as the focus of ESMoA's programs. The Experiences are theme-based and feature innovative installation methods by displaying works outside of art history chronology and across medium and genre.

ARTS EDUCATION
ESMoA employs three highly qualified full-time staff members, who work with K-12 school groups. More than 460 classes from over 48 schools (about 12,900 students) have attended the School & Teacher Program to date. ESMoA has provided free bus service to 146 classes from underserved and Title 1 schools since 2014 (ca. 3,930 students).

AiR (Artist in Residency)
ESMoA offers a work/live studio in which it hosts 3-5 international Artists-in-Residence a year. ESMoA partners with OTIS College of Art and Design and international institutions like the Royal Drawing School in London to select the artists.

PUBLIC PROGRAMS
ESMoA creates programs inspired by the theme of each Experience. Designed and presented by artists or educators, programs have included art talks and dance performances.

MYCHAL'S/ESMoA INTERNSHIP
The Internship is a partnership with Mychal's Learning Place, a Hawthorne non-profit that provides children and adults with developmental delays "opportunities that build self-esteem and independence, creating long-term success for life."

ESMOA ACADEMY
ESMoA-Academy is a growing free online archive of video-clips that give access to ways of art thinking.
Its first project, supported by an IMLS Sparks! Ignition Grant for Museums, documents the Mychals/ESMoA internship program for other institutions to follow.
