Operating Budget
Operating Budget
Project details
What we need
- A detailed Operating Budget covering at least one full fiscal year
- Expert advice on how to reconcile actual expenses with budgeted expenses
Additional details
I'm new to nonprofit leadership, having spent 20 years as a journalist, and I'm looking for assistance with crafting a budget for Friends of the Everglades.
What we have in place
- We currently have financial statements from 2019, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Quickbooks for tracking expenses/revenue, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,114 , allowing us to focus on clean-water policy issues affecting the Everglades and other vital waterways in Florida.
Potential donors want to see a budget before donating.
We also need a budget so we can be strategic about our spending.

Our mission
Friends of the Everglades is a nonprofit founded in 1969 by renowned journalist, author, and environmental activist Marjory Stoneman Douglas dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring the only Everglades in the world.
What we do
"Be a nuisance where it counts. Do your part to inform and stimulate the public to join your action. Be depressed, discouraged, and disappointed at failure and the disheartening effects of ignorance, greed, corruption, and bad politics--but never give up." - Marjory Stoneman Douglas
