Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
- We currently have an outdated employee handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have some new policies that need to be included, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to utilize our general operating resources for more immediate client needs like food, safety supplies, access to medical care, emergency cash assistance, support for pregnant women etc.
AFAHO is a growing non-profit and as we expand it is important to have a more robust Human Resources (HR) system. We want to begin this process by updating our Employee Handbook and Employment forms and will then move to work on other HR systems.

Our mission
The African Family Health Organization (AFAHO) is a non-profit, ethnic, community-based organization that supports African and Caribbean immigrants and refugees (ACIR) to access critical health, social and educational programs in the greater Philadelphia area. We work to mitigate barriers, strengthen community health culture and facilitate social integration through the utilization of a unique peer support model that uses shared language, cultural expertise, advocacy, and system navigation knowledge to help individuals and families overcome social determinants, build community connections, and gain information and resources needed to thrive and improve their health outcomes.
