Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
  • We currently have original handbook, plus a new example, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have current hiring terms, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to to offer clean, transparent policies to refer to when hiring and throughout--without this, we might not be able to get to this important task and would be vulnerable to tricky situations that come up.

We are required to have an Employer Handbook for insurance policy; the hiring terms were based from negotiations, not from existing policy; our Employer Handbook hasn't been updated for 6 years; we are in the process of hiring new staff, and this will be quite helpful. We have a very small staff (one FTE, 1 PTE and consultants), so don't have in house capacity available to do this right now, and it will save us a lot of time as we hire.

Our mission

Boston Neighborhood Community Land Trust works to combat displacement and racial injustice by creating permanently affordable, community-controlled housing in the Boston area, with a specific geographic focus on Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan.

BNCLT builds neighborhood stability, housing equity, and community strength among low- and moderate-income residents most at risk of displacement; and through the collective strength of partners working toward a shared, equitable, and just future.
