Website Accessibility Audit
Website Accessibility Audit
Project details
What we need
- A list of the common issues along with the prioritization of both severity and impact of the accessibility issues found
- List of areas that do not meet the Section 508, ADA, WCAG 2.0 guidelines
- Specific recommendations to improve product accessibility their priority level (low, medium, and high priority)
- Estimated time needed to fix current compliance issues
What we have in place
- We currently have Squarespace, which is easily editable, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Zoom, Google Suite, Slack, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to continue to provide groceries, hygiene kits, gender affirming items, bus passes and art supplies to members of the LGBTQIA+ community affected by COVID.
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community come in all races, genders, abilities, religions and sizes, so it's crucial that anyone who needs our life-saving and life-changing services can access our website when they need us.
Project plan
Our mission
Out Youth promotes the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well being of sexual and gender minority youth so that they can openly and safely explore and affirm their identities.
What we do
For over 31 years, Out Youth has offered LGBTQIA+ youth, young adults, adults, and their families and allies a place where they are loved, acknowledged, and accepted exactly as they are.
Our life-changing and life-saving programs and services are available virtually to people all over the world and (when it is safe to do so) in-person in Austin, Texas.
Testimonials
Kristin was totally amazing! Her knowledge and expertise was evident in the thoughtful, thorough and clear documentation she provided us – a doc, a spreadsheet AND a presentation! Although we were woefully unaware of what we needed to do to make our website accessible going into the process, Kristin patiently talked us through all the various and sundry changes we need to make, as well as explaining which ones were crucial to make first so our small staff can make the best use of our time. Kristin was outstanding and we'll definitely be reaching out to her again to work on the accessibility of our other program websites as well. 10/10!
I had a great experience working for OutYouth on the accessibility audit. The team was super interested in the findings of the audit and we had some meaningful discussions about improvements that can be made. Overall a great organization with wonderful people working there!
