As a Clinical Psychologist.....in a pandemic, I am asked to speak often. I do okay, but I would like to improve.
What we have in place
- We currently have recordings of past speeches, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have my complete commitment to improving., and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,660 , allowing us to provide more therapy services to the community.
I represent my nonprofit, if I can do that in a more impactful way, we can truly soar.

Our mission
Ascensions Psychological Services, Inc. serves the Washington, DC community through quality therapeutic services and social initiatives. As clients draw strength from their spiritual and internal wisdom, they are encouraged to lift themselves and those around them. Self-love, self-efficacy, and self-worth are the foundations of the Ascensions approach.
Through psychological and community interventions, Ascensions provides clients with the assistance they need to improve their self-concept, interpersonal relationships, and make positive contributions to their communities. Services infuse psychological theories and research with culture, history, and spirituality in order to offer each client an individualized plan to meet his or her specific needs.

Heather Rippere is the ultimate professional and thoroughly knows and understands the techniques necessary to be a great public speaker. From presenting a great slide show, to organizing your talking points, to being mindful, Heather's expertise was apparent in each session. I'm so happy that she was willing to work with me, my before and after videos improved tremendously. She took the time to get to know both me and my audience and then developed a curriculum for our work together to make sure that we achieved the results that I desired. Heather also gave great homework that required effort and thought which ultimately led to me taking more charge of my active improvement. She not only shared information to help me, she provided resources and hands on experiences. I am so grateful to she and Catchafire for this amazing opportunity that my organization needed but has been unable to obtain because of cost. With that being said, I'm not sure that there is a dollar amount that could truly compensate Heather for all that she has done for me and my confidence as a leader of a non-profit that is required to advocate and speak on a daily basis in my community.
It was a pleasure working with Ascensions Community Services, Inc.! They were committed to the process of improving their public speaking skills and, at the end of the project, incorporated what resonated with them into their final presentation. They commented, "They have become more mindful and more confident." I also walked away, gaining value from this project. I learned from Ascensions Community Services, Inc. how to build healthier relationships with your significant other. I would definitely work with them again!
