What we need
  • Document outlining Organization’s or a specific program’s strengths and weaknesses as well as potential opportunities and threats
Additional details

We are preparing to create our first strategic plan! We've gone from 100% local and in-person to global and virtual - starting with the COVID response in 2020. We want to continue offering our services beyond just Greater Philadelphia, so we need help with a SWOT analysis so that we develop appropriate strategies going forward (e.g. navigating hybrid events).

What we have in place
  • We currently have information on operations, program, financial, and staffing, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have some information on other virtual services organizations, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,888 , allowing us to use our limited budget to implement the strategies we envision in our new plan.

Without a strategic plan, we can't make decisions that will lead us in the direction we want to go. Without understanding our unique strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats strategic planning will not be effective.

Prep: Distribution of Materials & Goal Setting
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with information regarding current operations (financial, programmatic, physical and human resources), Organization-wide or program goals and mission, and market analysis
  • Professional facilitates meeting with Organization’s leadership to discuss goals for the SWOT analysis
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager outline next steps and timeline for the project (including individual meetings between Professional and members of Organization such as functional heads, board members, etc.)

Milestone 1: Initial Analysis
  • Professional analyzes the information shared by the Organization
  • Professional researches any additional information about external competitive landscape based on the market analysis
  • Professional conducts interviews with different Organization stakeholders for their perspectives on strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and threats

Milestone 2: Draft Deliverables
  • Professional drafts overview and analysis of Organization’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Professional drafts overview and analysis of potential opportunities and threats
  • Draft of SWOT analysis created and delivered to the Volunteer Manager

  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback to the Professional on the draft
  • Professional incorporates feedback into the draft to create final version
  • Final SWOT analysis created and delivered to the Volunteer Manager
