Our Mission
One Arizona was formed in 2010 as a direct response to the growing disenfranchisement of voters and the attack on our Latino community in the form of SB1070. One Arizona works to improve the lives of minorities, young people and single women by building a culture of civic participation.
What We Do
Our efforts and strategies have focused on ensuring we build a strong grassroots program that meets voters where they are. Here is some of our collective highlights:
-Knocked on close to half a million doors (485,000 estimate)
-Made over 600,000 phone calls
-Signed up close to 100,000 Latinos on the Permanent Early Voting List (96,000 estimate)
-Our efforts combined with natural growth and other efforts has led to increase the size of the list for Latinos from 91,000 in Jan 2010 to over 300,000 as of November 2014.
-Registered and updated 30,000 voter registrations
-Continued to maintain a steady growth in the Latino electorate since 2010, share of the electorate 2008- 16%, 2010-12%, 2012- 18%, 2014-12%
-Most important, kept a unified front of allies and organizations to work on improving civic engagement efforts in Arizona
