Website Technical Updates
Website Technical Updates
Project details
What we need
- Updates and/or fixes to Organization’s existing website (e.g., bug fixes, plugin or widget integration, etc.)
- Training for up to 3 Organization staff members on how to resolve minor issues going forward (if applicable)
Additional details
We would like to change our organization website's primary domain from .com to .org -- we own both domains (Google domains) and currently point .org to redirect to .com, but don't have the technical knowledge to switch the primary domain on our own!
What we have in place
- We currently have both domains, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a clear vision of our technical needs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,757 , allowing us to continue supporting our scholars pursuing their doctoral degrees!
As a nonprofit, having a website with .org ending lends to our credibility. We have been sitting on this project for over 6 months waiting for the right to do it on our own, but other priorities -- grants that are due, programmatic changes, community needs -- always overshadow it.
Project plan
Our mission
Cohort Sistas provides digital resources, mentorship, and community to improve equity in doctoral education. While our programs and platform are open to all doctoral students, applicants, and degree holders, we prioritize and center the needs and perspectives of Black women and nonbinary scholars.
What we do
Founded in July 2020, Cohort Sistas has over 3,000 members across academic disciplines from all around the world. As the only non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to equipping Black women currently or interested in pursuing doctoral education with the knowledge, support, and community they need to thrive in the Ivory Tower, Cohort Sistas works to:
1. Increase the number of Black women and nonbinary people who matriculate into and complete doctoral degrees.
2. Reduce the undue financial and emotional burden of doctoral education for Black women and nonbinary people.
3. Strengthen the pipeline of Black women and nonbinary leaders in higher education, research, government, and industry, whose work and influence will create positive social change for all.
Testimonials
Jitendra addressed a technical issue with our website that we had been sitting on for months. He worked incredibly quickly and communicated throughout the whole process. We're so grateful for his assistance!
