Project Description:
Join us for a day of fun and family-friendly activities at Lake Merritt! Our Family Fun Day event, hosted by Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate, Inc., offers an opportunity for families to come together for a day filled with entertainment, learning, and community building.
What we have in place
- We currently have our sponsorship package we also have flyers made, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a mailing list to distrubte, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,792 , allowing us to us to reinvest these funds into expanding our educational workshops and support programs for fathers, enhancing our impact within the community.
Family Fun Day is crucial because it tackles the pervasive issue of father absence--a factor Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate, Inc. believes contributes to 90% of societal challenges. By celebrating and supporting fatherhood, this event works to reverse the most destructive trend affecting our generation. It provides fathers a platform to engage positively with their families, thereby promoting healthier community dynamics and demonstrating the invaluable role fathers play in their children's lives

Our mission
Like most large cities, Oakland is facing a crisis of epic proportions. The young males of the community have been neglected as society's castoffs. At a vastly disproportionate rate, they are unemployed/under-employed, living below the poverty level, uneducated, incarcerated and often prisoners within their own neighborhoods, which can resemble warzones. They are overwhelmingly the product of single-mother homes, with little to no guidance and a remarked lack of adult male role models to provide good examples and much needed firm, but caring, discipline. These young men are in desperate need of social and spiritual intervention. There is a void in their lives. If left unattended, it WILL be filled by the streets. Man 2 Man Ministry was created to rescue them from this downward spiral and help fill the void in their lives with positive experiences and hope.
What we do
Man 2 Man - Urban Youth Advocate is a collection of recovery, intervention and educational programs for men that are delivered by men. Man 2 Man - UYA mentors young adult men of all ethnicities between the ages of 10 and 24. The program provides life skills that will help and enhance personal development.
