What we need
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
Additional details

Additionally, I would appreciate advice on overseeing a team that includes external contractors and discussion about working with BIPOC staff as a white manager.

What we have in place
  • I have experience supporting the supervision of interns & vistas as well as working closely with contractors. As I move into my first management role, I am ready to expand my leadership skills and leverage my own existing strengths.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to invest in the expansion of our staff and continue to increase organizational capacity.

I manage our storytelling program called Muslim Sheroes of Minnesota, whose purpose is to showcase the changemakers in our community and reclaim the Muslim woman's narrative. Stronger management skills will empower me to more effectively supervise our team of storytellers--and in turn, tell more meaningful stories.

Milestone 1: Coaching Sessions
  • In-depth coaching sessions on topics like motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Ensure each session is followed by a trial period to apply the skills and report back at subsequent sessions on the outcomes, learnings and follow-up questions
