Project details
What we need
- An easily understood visual aid that communicates complex information
- A high-resolution version of the Infographic in the Organization’s preferred format
Additional details
We had a designer from CatchaFire doing wonderful infographics (sample at https://www.ampleharvest.org/infographic) for us in the past, but they need to be updated or maybe, we need to start with a fresh look. We're now working on tweaking the messaging a bit to improve traction.
What we have in place
- We currently have past examples and marketing talent available, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the time to chat/meet as much as needed, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to Enable us to generate the additional capacity needed to further expand our reach (today at www.AmpleHarvest.org/map) and impact (videos at www.AmpleHarvest.org/feedback).
AmpleHarvest.org is the only program of its kind. It solves hunger by solving food waste, and visa versa. For us, the solution is information - not the food itself, and this is at time, challenging to get across - esp. to funders. We need visuals that make it clear to a prospective funder that we're getting people fed - not just feeding them, and that the solution is scales nationwide and is permanent. In short, working to solve problems - not just react to them.
Project plan
Our mission
While 42 million Americans are hungry, more than 42 million grow food in home gardens- often more than they can use.
AmpleHarvest.org helps gardeners find a local food pantry eager for their excess harvest.
Created by a CNN Hero/World Food Prize nominee, it more than 8,400 food pantries in America. Backed by Google, the USDA and many others, AmpleHarvest.org diminishes hunger, reduces climate change and improves community health. Learn more at AmpleHarvest.org/TED
What we do
AmpleHarvest.org enables a food pantry to register its name, address, phone, and other information including an optional photo of the building to make it easy to find. It also accepts information on the days and hours gardeners' donations will be accepted. Food pantries can also list store bought items they need, helpful to users of our free Ample Harvest iPhone app.
Gardeners with extra garden produce as well as other donors simply enter their address or zip code to view all registered food pantries within the distance they are willing to travel. AmpleHarvest.org can also display a map and detailed driving instructions for the donor.
AmpleHarvest.org one of kind nonprofit and has the support of the US Department of Agriculture, Google.com, Garden Writers of America, National Gardening Association, numerous faith groups and many other organizations. Nearly one out of every five food pantries in America have already registered. AmpleHarvest.org is free of charge both for food pantries and gardeners.
