Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
  • We love our terrific handbook, put together by an excellent Catchafire Volunteer within the last year. We'd now like to include updates specifically including Best Practices in working with minors, including requiring sexual harassment training, and phone or "virtual" safety.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to utilize our time and resources on student success in this changing environment, rather than researching human potential suggestions that may be outdated.

Safety for our students is a high priority for us. Having grown from a small organization, we realize our needs have grown, too!

Our mission

SARSEF creates the next generation of critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering.

What we do

SARSEF empowers students to identify problems in their everyday life and solve them using science and engineering. From keeping a grandmother well by building a solar heater to discovering a potential cure for Parkinson's, SARSEF students are changing our community and the world- one problem at a time.

SARSEF reaches over 95,000 students annually through our programs and events.

Our free programs train teachers on how to integrate science in to their everyday lessons- while checking off those state standards. We host parent-student workshops at low-income schools so the whole family can support their young problem solvers. And we have incredible in-depth programs for middle and high school students to explore a problem they are passionate about.
