Flexible Coaching Support
Flexible Coaching Support
Project details
What we need
- Ongoing professional development support for 10-15 hours over the course of 4 weeks
- Support may include: working on your personal professional development goals, advising on management best practices, and coaching on a specific skill
- Note: We devised this project to connect nonprofits and volunteers for more flexible, more immediate impact. We strongly suggest you start with 4 weeks and decide from there if you'd like to continue working together
Additional details
Atlanta Rescue Dog Cafe (ARDC) is a small nonprofit that focuses on humane education, community building, and pet therapy programs. We've been operating for the past 3 years without a physical space. We're interested in learning if a commercial realtor/developer or foundation would be interested in gifting a small (<1,000 sq ft.) community space for us to lead these programs, and how to go about approaching this.
What we have in place
- We currently have a dedicated CEO willing to engage on this, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have metrics, testimonials, a website/social media, etc., and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,290 , allowing us to put even more funds back into our programming, and further increase our impact.
Since beginning in late 2017, our goal was to operate for 3 yrs w/o a space, and put all our funding back into programming, thereby showing impact and responsible fiscal stewardship. We want to make a strong case to donors, the public, and foundations for why we should be gifted a small community space (to also house a nonprofit "cafe") so we can offer our programs on-site, and in the community at schools, scout troops, YMCAs, etc. This would also serve as an add'l revenue stream.
Project plan
Our mission
Atlanta Rescue Dog Cafe is a non-profit dedicated to the well-being of the community's pets and its people.
Our mission is to reduce the inflow of pets into animal shelters, and prevent incidents of animal cruelty - through innovative community-building, pet therapy, and humane education programming.
What we do
We offer innovative and engaging humane education, community-building, and pet therapy programs that emphasize: empathy, kindness, compassion, and responsibility. Our programs focusing on cruelty prevention and promoting positive human-animal interactions have impacted more than 30,000 participants since 2018.
Testimonials
Linda is AMAZING! She provided the strategic direction, coaching support and accountability we needed to take the next steps in moving our organization forward. We're already planning our next project to work with her, and can't recommend her highly enough.
CEO and ED Aaron founded the Atlanta Rescue Dog Café three years ago as a virtual entity with the goal of having a physical presence of its own. He is a passionate leader working closely with board members, volunteers and interns. Since the pandemic, ARDC has flourished with its ability to educate virtually and raise awareness of all those constituents interested in learning about best practices for taking care of dogs and their safety so they don't ultimately end up in a rescue facility. I assisted in coaching Aaron on options and consequences having a new physical space, either owned or leased. We also discussed board management and program development. I highly recommend doing a Catchafire project with Aaron!
