Website Accessibility Audit
Website Accessibility Audit
Project details
What we need
- A list of the common issues along with the prioritization of both severity and impact of the accessibility issues found
- List of areas that do not meet the Section 508, ADA, WCAG 2.0 guidelines
- Specific recommendations to improve product accessibility their priority level (low, medium, and high priority)
- Estimated time needed to fix current compliance issues
Additional details
Our listener base is reading-impaired (vision loss primarily - or can not hold a newspaper). We don't currently have a library of already recorded programs, but are hoping to add that soon. We are unsure of how accessible our current website is, and would really appreciate an evaluation, before adding more functionality.
What we have in place
- I am the board chair, I am somewhat familiar with website development and our CMS. I am happy to get answers to any question you have.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,550 , allowing us to focus our limited resources to maximize the benefit to our listening community.
Our organization's mission is serving the disability community. Ensuring that our website is as accessible as possible is critical to deciding how to implement past-programming availability. Also to deciding if we should start from scratch.
Project plan
Our mission
Valley Eye Radio broadcasts accessible local news and information in the Pioneer Valley, fights social isolation, and empowers community engagement for those with vision loss and other disabilities who can no longer read independently. We achieve our mission by mobilizing the power of volunteers, local news reporting, technology, collaborators, and the generosity of donors.
Testimonials
This project had a broad and not very well-defined scope. Katelyn was flexible and helped work out appropriate deliverables. She was quite resourceful and provided us with a really useful analysis. Thank you to Catchafire and to Katelyn. We are grateful for your help!
Ellen is an absolute pleasure to work with. I learned so much speaking with her about the project and she explained how this project would help the organization as a whole.
