Project details
What we need
- A Salesforce database including: a customized set of Salesforce objects, single-record editing of data and field history tracking (up to 15 object types), a customized set of views to allow table-based editing of data (up to 15 views), a customized set of reports to pull data from multiple object types (up to 15 reports)
- Migration of Organization's current database to Salesforce
- Training for designated staff member on new objects, reports and views
- “Hand-off” documentation on the object schemas and any custom code
What we have in place
- For tracking donors, we currently have a comprehensive database in DonorPerfect, which we would like to migrate to SalesForce -- this is priority #1 for this project.
Priority #2 would be to also create the capacity to track information about our participants: namely, all their demographic and contact information, attendance history (for both summer and school year programs), and responses to surveys. We recognize that this is a bigger lift. At the least, it would be great to get a little training on SalesForce customization and some advice on how we could handle this piece internally.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,772 , allowing us to send 6 underserved NYC youth to summer camp.
We would love to track data about both our donors and our participants/clients in a web-based platform. This would greatly streamline our donor-tracking and internal program evaluation efforts.

Our mission
Steve's Camp at Horizon Farms empowers young people to develop healthy bodies, hearts, and minds. Our summer camp is the cornerstone of our work. At camp, participants learn healthy living, leadership, and problem-solving skills. During the school year, campers deepen these skills to emerge as leaders and prepare for fulfilling lives after high school.
What we do
The summer camp experience is the starting point of a journey that encompasses campers' high school careers.
Coming to camp allows underserved teens - many of whom have never been away from home before - to work toward developing healthy bodies, hearts, and minds in a new environment. However, creating lasting change in our campers’ lives requires more than twelve days each summer. So, we stay connected with camp alumni in several ways:
Weekend Workshops that keep campers connected to the camp community and help them prepare and plan for life after high school
In-School Enrichment Programming (currently a pilot) that provides intensive socioemotional and academic support to camp alumni and new recruits
Leadership Development through work opportunities for camp alumni, including our Counselor-in-Training program
