Old Pine Community Center's mission is to enrich the lives of our neighbors through programs and services focused on supporting children and families, addressing food insecurity, and building community engagement.

What We Do

Since 1977, Old Pine Community Center's (OPCC) mission has been to enrich the lives of our neighbors through programs and services focused on addressing food insecurity, supporting children and families, and building community engagement. Our work is responsive to and informed by our community, addressing unmet or undermet needs.

Current programs include supplying healthy groceries and fresh meals for hundreds of individuals each week, in partnership with organizations including Depaul USA, Mighty Writers, Puentes de Salud, and Courtyard Apartments at Riverview. In addition, we operate an Afterschool and Summer Camp program, working closely with neighboring McCall, Meredith, and Nebinger public schools. Our facility also serves as a safe, affordable, and accessible space for neighborhood meetings, private party rentals, sports leagues, and educational and cultural events. More than twenty outside community organizations and small businesses operate in our building each week.

In 2023, we provided more than 125,000 pounds of food, 10,000 meals, 7,000 grocery care packages, and 1,000 hours of volunteer engagement for our neighbors. We also welcomed hundreds of guests at community-wide events and dozens of families through our Afterschool and Summer Camp programs.
